The most common reaction when someone realises the size of the problem is “what can I do? I’m only one person?”

This is true, you are only one person in about 6 billion, but before you get discouraged, thinking about government inaction and corporate apathy, remember, as a Canadian, all the cards are in your hands. You have more power then many other people on earth do. Your vote determines who is elected, your spending determines which companies get revenue, your choice determines the future for yourself and all of us.

My passion for climate change doesn’t come from the worry of losing the poler bear, as terrible as that would be, or the loss of habitat for other animals and plants, but from the way that climate change is already effecting people, just like you or me, around the world. No one should be forced to flee their home, forced to take up arms over dwindling resources, or forced to loose their life, just so we can maintain our unstainable lifestyle.
